Raleigh covers about as much variety as any city we work in. Inside the Beltline the houses are older brick and painted wood under heavy oak canopy, and the north side is newer vinyl and fiber cement on open lots. The first group greens up fast on the shaded elevations and wants soft washing. The second mostly wants the pollen off.
Raleigh commercial work is offices, medical parks, and retail centers with real foot traffic. Entry glass and walkway concrete are what customers see, and those need a schedule rather than an annual visit.
Neighborhoods we cover: North Hills, Five Points, Oakwood, Hayes Barton, Brier Creek, North Raleigh, Downtown, Cameron Village, Mordecai and the neighborhoods inside the Beltline.
Raleigh sits on red clay, and that matters more than people expect. After heavy rain, runoff carries iron-rich sediment onto driveways and the lower courses of siding, and it sets into a stain that does not respond to pressure alone. City water here runs moderately hard, so hose-dried glass and dark siding spot if they are rinsed and left. The oak canopy over the older neighborhoods holds humidity against north-facing walls well into the morning, which is why growth establishes on that side first and returns fastest.
Most of our Raleigh residential work is soft washing two-storey siding, restoring driveways that have gone green at the edges, and clearing gutters under mature oaks. On the commercial side we handle office park entrances, medical building walkways, and restaurant patios along the Glenwood and Hillsborough Street corridors. Multi-storey access and parking restrictions are the two things that most often change how a Raleigh job is scheduled.
Timing in Raleigh follows the pollen. The heavy yellow fall runs late March into April, and washing before it finishes just means doing it twice, so most house washing here books late April through May. North-facing walls under the older oak canopy inside the Beltline are the exception and can be treated any time growth appears. Driveways and walkways are less seasonal and are often better done in fall, when the concrete has weeks of dry weather ahead of it to cure clean.
